CB United Soccer Academy

CB United Soccer Academy is a joint effort of CBYSA (Council Bluffs Youth Soccer Association) and CBFC (Council Bluffs Futbol Club).

Eligibility

• The Academy is open to all U10-aged CBYSA players born on or between 8/1/98 and 7/31/00. Must be rostered on a CBYSA team for Fall 2008 or Spring 2009.

More about the Academy

The Academy provides a camp-like atmosphere where participants develop technical skills and abilities. Focus is on dribbling, passing/receiving, ball control, decision-making, and other individual skills.

Each session is 90 minutes long. Players move through grids receiving training on several different skills. The players are also placed into game-like situations to develop and perfect the skills learned within the training grids. Each week, players work with different groups allowing them to train with players of different skill levels.

Academy Calendar

• Applications due: We will accept applications until the Academy is full.

• Girls' Academy - Wednesdays, 6:00-7:30, April 15 to May 27

• Boys' Academy - Sundays, 5:30-7:00, April 19 to May 31

Cost

• $30 per participant

Coaches' Information

In order to effectively function, we need coaches to help educate and coach the players. This is a great opportunity to:

• Get hands-on training on coaching and reading the game of soccer

• Learn proper coaching methodology and technique

• Learn new ideas to implement within your team training sessions

• Help other coaches within the community understand the game of soccer

The Academy Director will organize and plan the training sessions. Under his direction, coaches will be assigned to grids to help instruct and coach the players through the various skills and games.
